I watched this movie at the GenArt Film Festival in New York back in May. The story follows Erik as he tries to win back his girlfriend, who has left him to participate in a live-action-role-playing event in which the participants take their roles/characters a bit too seriously. The film tries to blend together comedy, drama, and a little bit of horror, but mostly fails. There are definitely some absolutely hilarious scenes that poke fun at the LARPing world. However, the film suffers greatly by the fact that the relationship between Erik and his girlfriend is extremely weak from the very beginning. Erik comes off as a powerless wimp and you never really like his girlfriend in any way. Basically, I found myself constantly asking, "Why is he even bothering?" Nevertheless our naive "hero" persists, but you never care about what happens to either of them as the story reaches its conclusion, and that is the film's fatal flaw.
